Project Description

Creative Art In Architecture is a intensive week “5 days” full time Workshop focusing exclusively on introducing Morphogenesis, evolving architecture, Form finding and optimizing complex geometry with parametric design tools in conjunction with economic efficiency, structural performance, environmental impact.

The workshop shows Systems biology which aims at understanding how biological systems operate at various scales, by studying the interactions between the individual constituents (organisms).
At each of these organisational levels, the degree of complexity is such that information cannot be processed and integrated on a purely intuitive basis.
Therefor the Achieved models (Installations) must be elaborated on the bases of biological data and validated at both the elementary constituent and the global structure scales.
The workshop was an attempt to draw a sketch of the state-of-the-art and to spread the methodologies to a wide community of researchers.

Workshop Synopsis: The workshop was organized by MAG LAB in collaboration with AIU. This new edition “Creative process, contemporary Art” done in December 2013 ; focused its interest on showing Students different creative processes in a multidisciplinary artistic context, based on the New “making of” culture.

Students were able to explore different ways of representing ideas through art concepts applied by an intensive search for spatial conditions in order to configure architectural spaces.
Different spatial possibilities through a given site presented the students with an opportunity to generate several prototypes using realistic, raw & smart materials.

The Aim of this workshop is to give students an insight on different ways to generate and represent ideas combining exercises based on art examples and natural processes as paradigms. Students achieved this through theoretical classes, personal research and practical work. The outcome was outstanding , COLOURFUL and full of energy.
