Creative Art in Architecture “Responsive Systems”

Workshop Synopsis: 
The workshop was organized by MAG LAB in collaboration with AIU. This edition “Digital Fabrication and contemporary Art” focused its interest on showing Students different responsive Systems in creative processes throughout artistic context, Exclusively focusing on introducing Morphogenesis, Form finding and optimizing complex geometry with art and design in conjunction with economic efficiency, structural performance, environmental impact.

Students were able to explore different ways of representing ideas through art concepts applied by an intensive search for spatial conditions in order to configure architectural spaces. 
Different spatial possibilities through a given site presented the students with an opportunity to generate several prototypes using realistic, raw & smart materials. 

This workshop focused on impacts of fabrication strategies and technologies on professional practice and services. It explored issues such as emerging forms of professional practice, status of professional knowledge and skills, it was an exploration around Elements ”objects” as an expression of a multiplicity of conditions (structural, material, formal, cultural, spatial) 
The workshop task was: Design and fabricate an open-air Element “Object” for a park, a park facility “lighting objects, bench, chair, canopy, installation”. 

The Aim of this workshop was to give students an insight on different ways to generate and represent ideas combining exercises based on art examples and natural processes as paradigms. Students achieved this through theoretical classes, personal research and practical work.
